About the Organization

Clean and Healthy California (formerly Campaign for a Safe and Healthy California) exists to protect Californians from the fiscal, health, and environmental impacts of Big Oil, while advancing an equitable transition to a clean energy future and away from the waning oil production that currently exists. We are a social welfare and political advocacy organization focused on supporting environmental leaders, health professionals and community organizations holding Big Oil accountable, ensuring that California’s clean energy transition uplifts all communities — especially those most burdened by pollution and inequity.

Vision

A California where all communities, especially those who have historically been burdened by the health and environmental impacts of Big Oil, are prioritized, protected and heard; where Big Oil is held accountable for its impacts and where the transition to clean energy uplifts all Californians.

Working together and across interests, we can advance a just mission away from oil production that uplifts voices across the state.

Core Values

  • Big Oil Accountability – The oil industry must take responsibility for its full impact, from pollution to cleanup.
  • Environmental Justice for ALL Communities – Frontline communities deserve protection, investment, and power in decision-making.
  • Equitable Transition to Clean Energy – A clean energy future must include and uplift workers and communities dependent on the fossil fuel economy.
  • Health and Safety First – Every Californian deserves to live free from the dangers and pollution of oil operations.
